Seymour?s volleyball team had a disappointing end to Saturday?s season-opening tournament at Borden, losing in three sets to Providence in the championship.

But with the backing of a home crowd Thursday night, the Owls played sharp in handling Bloomington North 25-11, 25-9, 25-10.

?After coming off last weekend, Providence is a very good team, and we lost to them in the tournament, but you never know how the team is going to respond after that kind of a loss,? Owls coach Angie Lucas said.

?We responded very well. We played pretty much a perfect match tonight.?

Md. House GOP leaders comment on lawmaker's accident

ANNAPOLIS ? Maryland?s House Republican leaders said Friday they are troubled by the boating accident involving Republican Delegate Don H. Dwyer Jr., who has admitted he had been drinking while operating a motorboat before a collision that hospitalized six people, including the delegate.

Delegate Anthony J. O'Donnell of Calvert, the House minority leader, and Delegate Jeannie Haddaway-Riccio of Talbot, the minority whip, released a short joint statement about the accident, which happened Wednesday night on the Magothy River near Gibson Island.

?While we appreciate Delegate Dwyer?s frankness in his statements, we are troubled by these circumstances,? they said, adding that they will refrain from any further comments as an ongoing investigation continues.

House Speaker Michael E. Busch also released a statement on Friday.

?As is typically the case where there is an ongoing criminal investigation, the Joint Committee on Legislative Ethics will defer any action until the conclusion of the judicial process,? said Mr. Busch, Anne Arundel Democrat.
Dwyer, Anne Arundel Republican, told reporters Thursday outside a Baltimore hospital that his blood alcohol level was 0.2. That?s more than twice the legal limit.

None of the injuries, which included bruises and broken bones, was considered life-threatening.

Sgt. Brian Albert, a spokesman with the Department of Natural Resources Police, said an investigation continues.

While DNR police are aware of Mr. Dwyer?s comments about his drinking, Sgt. Albert said investigators would wait for results from a blood test authorities had taken from Mr. Dwyer due to suspicions alcohol may have played a role in the accident. That, he said, could take a couple of weeks to 30 days.

One child injured in the accident was still in the hospital for observation, Sgt. Albert said.

Beirut Became Plastic Surgery Center in the world

Beirut had earned the nickname "Paris of the East" due to the cosmopolitan atmosphere. And, despite the Civil War-torn Lebanon and then for 15 years (1975-1990), Beirut was losing its charm. After going through major reconstruction, the capital city of 2 million people managed to get up. Even Beirut once was ranked 9th best city in the world Travel & Leisure magazine in 2006.Now reportedly Beirut became plastic surgery center in the world , a recognized professional.

Now, Beirut became one of the main destinations of foreign tourists, the first ranks of the list of 44 places that must be visited daily version of The New York Times in 2009. Many things that cause it. Besides filled with art galleries, museums, and other tourist destinations, Beirut also became the center of fashion. From this city was born a few top designers whose design widely worn by Hollywood celebrities on the red carpet, such as Elie Saab, Zuhair Murad, Georges Chakra, Reem Acra.

One other attraction of Beirut is its position as a center for plastic surgery in the world today, beating Los Angeles. This is because the cost of plastic surgery in Beirut is much cheaper than in the U.S. and Europe, and have been riding for 17 years. For example, rhinoplasty costs $ 2,000, while breast implants were "only" 4000 dollars. In the U.S., breast surgery can cost 7000 dollars.

Lebanon woman is already very well known with her ??beauty. Just look Salma Hayek (Lebanon-Mexico), Shakira (Lebanese-Spanish), Jenna Dewan-Tatum (Lebanese-American), and of course Nadine Njeim (Miss Lebanon 2007). However, Lebanese women increasingly obsessed with their physical appearance, and the more who undergo plastic surgery, whether breast implants, Botox, liposuction, nose or repairs. Not infrequently they undergo a combination of procedures, such as breast augmentation as well as tummy-tuck (tummy tuck), and the beheading of the nose.

Plastic surgery demand is so high that banks also offer loans for plastic surgery program. National Bank, for example, offers plastic surgery loans with terms up to 5,000 dollars under the age of 64 years and it still works.

"You could not find a job in Lebanon if you look unattractive. People will reject you socially," said Maher Mezher of First National Bank.

According to experts from the industry, each year 1.5 million plastic surgery done in Lebanon. That's not including the 10 million non-surgical procedures such as Botox and collagen injections. Most women begin first operations with the beheading of the nose (the most popular procedures), followed by a face-lift, breast implants, and liposuction. Not surprisingly, many Lebanese women who had the look the same: small nose, large cheeks, perfectly shaped breasts, and lips are sexy. Some are doing a total makeover.

GOP Convention Threatened by Storm

Tropical storm Isaac, which is gathering strength in the Caribbean, could strike Florida, hurricane forecasters say, triggering concern it might force a postponement or cancellation of the Republican National Convention in Tampa next week.

Tropical Storm Isaac is churning through the Caribbean and could be heading for Tampa, just in time for the start of the Republican Convention on Monday. Meteorologist Eric Holthaus on The News Hub has details on Isaac's likely path.

More WSJ Election 2012 Coverage

It is still too early to predict whether the storm could make a direct hit on the city. Forecast models show Isaac's center following a path that could take it as far west as the Gulf of Mexico and as far east as the Atlantic Ocean by next Monday.

Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands braced for torrential rains on Thursday as the storm churned waves as high as 10 feet in the Caribbean and threatened to become a hurricane. Some flooding was reported in eastern and southern regions of Puerto Rico as the storm approached.

Isaac will likely turn into a Category 1 hurricane by Friday as it nears the Dominican Republic and Haiti, according to the National Hurricane Center. It was expected to weaken a little while heading over their island and Cuba, then possibly move on toward Florida as a hurricane by Monday.

A contractor works installs a sign for the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Fla. this week.

On Wednesday morning, Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn raised the prospect that the GOP convention, scheduled to run from Monday to Thursday, might have to be canceled. "Absolutely, we're prepared to call it off," he said in an interview on CNN.

Such a move "would be a last resort," he told The Wall Street Journal later in the day. "I don't think it will come to that," he said. "We are full speed ahead with the RNC."

Convention organizers said they were monitoring the storm. "The convention is working closely with our partners at the federal, state and local levels," said James Davis, director of communications for the convention. "We have contingency plans in place to ensure the health and safety" of attendees and local residents. Mr. Davis declined to provide further details.

The U.S. Secret Service is coordinating overall security for the convention, said spokesman George Ogilvie. But numerous other federal, state and local agencies would be involved in any disaster response, he said.

Officials say that they have always known a big storm could strike during the convention and that they have planned accordingly. In May, the Florida Division of Emergency Management conducted its annual hurricane exercise?a simulation designed to test the state's disaster response?in Tampa. The scenario envisioned a hurricane hitting the city during the convention. "It certainly improved our readiness," said Bryan Koon, the division's director.

All of this may sound familiar to Republicans: in 2008, they canceled much of the programming for the first day of the GOP convention in St. Paul, Minn., out of respect for those threatened by Hurricane Gustav, which was bearing down on the Gulf Coast.

Nikon intros flagship Coolpix P7700 for prosumers, diminutive Coolpix S01 for fashionistas

In a bid to give Canon's PowerShot G1 X a run for its money, Nikon is pulling out every stop it knows with the introduction of the Coolpix P7700. It's a decidedly prosumer model, priced at a buck under $500 and equipped with a 1/1.7-inch 12.2 megapixel BSI CMOS sensor, 7.1x zoom lens (with a maximum aperture of f/2), 1080p movie mode, Lens-Shift Vibration Reduction and full manual control for those who abhor automatic captures. On the opposite side of the spectrum, there's the $179 Coolpix S01 -- a bantam P&S camera that's bound to snake its way into stockings this holiday season. Specs-wise, it's packing a 2.5-inch touchpanel, electronic VR, a 10 megapixel CCD sensor, built-in flash and a stainless exterior that measures just 3.1- x 2.1- x 0.7-inches. It'll ship alongside the P7700 this September, but it's on you to pick between the red, silver, white and pink color options. The full releases are embedded after the break.
